We had a good weekend!

They have signs like this everywhere!! They tell you go this way to reach what you want but wait, you cant turn that way! Sometimes you go like 4 blocks before you can turn the way you want!
Preston and Mr.Kum

Haha i couldnt help but take this pucture. They love octopus here... they have it all dried up and in bags and sell it in the stores.. it smells so bad!
Just goofing off while we were in his office on Saturday. No one really comes in to get their mail.

Trying to be a tuff soldier haha
Preston and Joey jamming haha
Me and Preston we were pretty tired...
Joey and Tiffany jamming out
This is the other Tiffany haha we kept getting confused when someone would say Tiffany so now i go by Tiff and she goes by Tiffany haha
Joey, behind him i dont know his name, the Ryans back and Tiffanys back haha

So this weekend we had a lot of fun! Friday after work we went for a drive around Waegwan, the town we live in, then we went to the McDonalds. Us, the McDonalds (Tiffany and Ryan), and Brian (SGT Shramm) and Joey (a Katusa) and 2 other soldiers (I dont know their names) all played Guitar Hero and goofed off. It was a lot of fun. Then Saturday after Preston went to work Mr.Kum and his family invited us to watch the new Harry Potter out in South Dague. Haha on our way we thought we had turned off on the wrong turn (all signs were in just Hongul) and we were driving down the street trying to find the freeway entrance again when Mr.Kum calls and as Preston is telling him we think we turned wrong our back door opens and Mr.Kum just hops in our car! Haha turns out we had turned the right way and he saw us driving down the street so he hoped in to tell us to pull over so we could meet up with his family in their car. After we watched Harry Potter we went and ate hotdogs with them at a resteraunt by the theater. It was a lot of fun. In 2 weeks they are coming to our apartment to have a bbq. Then Sunday there wasnt church- they had a conferance in Seoul and we had forgotten so we had no time to get approval to get to go, ause we cant just travel up there without his Unit approval, so we went to Camp Henry, where movies are free, and watched the new Ice Age. Its so cute! We had a really good weekend!

Learning Hongul

Just a little of the sounds, a symbols we are learning
Our names in Hongul

Hahaha on the way to the movie as we were walking down the street we randomly saw this maniqun just sitting like that in a junk yard! I couldnt help but take the picture!

So yesterday me and Preston started learning how to speak Hongul. It is a very hard language! I am already so confused but its fun to learn. We are learning it from the Katusa soldiers! They are so patient with us! We know most of the people in our class. There is about 8 of us in the class and about 4 Katusas. Also last weekend we went and saw the Harry Potter movie in a Korean Theater. We had a lot of fun with it! We are still enjoying our time here!

The African Dance
The Drums they played at the opening... they are so cool sounding! I loved it!

A few weeks ago we went to a Korean Friendship Dinner. We had a lot of fun. We ate Korean Food, which was okay... then we watched an African Dance, a Fan Dance, listened to Jazz Music and a 2 guys sing. We had a lot of fun. Kelly likes to invite us to these things and we always have so much fun. Its the same thing that sponsered our Korean Cooking Class we went to right before our leave. We are really enjoying it here!!

Cuttin Hair

Our street during the storm we had earlier this week. At the top of our street there is a small mountain and you can even see the top of it through the rain and clouds!!
This random statue outside the theater.
The movie theater we went to see the Transformers at, it only has 1 screen in it.
Thats a bench.. the other end has a head just like that one... but there were tons of ppl sitting on that side so i didnt get a picture of it..
Preston after I gave him his 2nd hair cut, see its not too bad! haha

So about 2 weeks ago I started to cut Prestons hair. Its not the best haircuts ever, but they arent too bad! I have been cutting it once a week. We havent really been up to much lately. We went to a movie with Mr.Kum last week. He and his wife, and their 2 sons, took us to see the new Transformers in a Korean Theater. When you buy tickets there you actually are assigned a seat. Its crazy! We had fun though. This weekend is Preston birthday. We dont have anything really planned but we'll see what happens!

Us and the 2 Students we were paired with, their names are Heana (Hannah) and Sujin

All we need to get started!!

Just got to the class room where we learned to make Bagolgi!

So its been FOREVER since I wrote on our blog. I have a lot of catching up to do! Its raining hard outside today, we are in Monsoon Season, and so I cant go out and do things I needed so I thought I would play catch up! Back towards the end of May we went to Dague Health College where we learned to make Bagolgi, listend to Jazz Music, and went to a Museum. Bagolgi is a traditional Korean dish. Its thinly sliced spicey beef with vegatables and then served with sticky rice. Its one of our favorite things to eat here, we like to order it from the Country Kitchen, a resteraunt up the street. When we got to the college every 2 Americans were paired with 2 Korean Students. We were there from around 11-5 then we went to a Concert that night on base. It was Trapt and Default. It was a lot of fun. After the concert we were able to meet the band and get autographs and pictures with them. It was a good weekend!!
