Happy Birthday!

* He just made his Birthday Wish!
*Haha, like the mini fire next to Preston??
* My set up for Preston bday dinner!
* Kim ( a KATUSA ), Wallace, Preston and a new ROK Army Captain

So Preston just turned 24 on Monday!! We didnt get to celebrate his birthday until Tuesday though - which was okay since it was Monday in the states haha - because Preston had a PT Test on Tuesday Morning and we didnt really think that a big dinner and cake and all would be too good the night before his PT Test. Preston did pass his test! So Tuesday after Prestons lunch I went home and decorated the house some, made a cake, and started our dinner. After Preston got off work we went to "The Wall" - aka: rock climbing - with a group of people from the Unit. I took pictures, then left about an hour after I got there to go finish making dinner. Then I went and picked up Preston so we could go home and celebrate his birthday! I made him steak, potatoes, corn, rolls, chocolate dipped strawberries and his birthday cake! We ate and watched movies and hung out. It was a nice dinner- we actually were able to relax and enjoy our time together. We're both always busy, it sometimes becomes hard to just sit and hang out. So it was awesome!
Tomorrow I have to go get my wisdom teeth on the ride side pulled... im scared! I know, I know you're all probably going "Why are you scared?!" ... Im scared because my bottom right wisdom tooth looks straight but the root actually is at a 90 degree angle. They have to cut away part of the bone to be able to remove the root. I could've just let them cut the tooth and wait to see if the root would 'float' but that would cause me more problems... so im getting it all removed! Im going to a Korean Dental Clinic off-post! The doctor went to school at Columbia University and speaks perfect English. His name is something like Kenneth... walking into his office you wouldnt know he was a Korean Doctor. He is also TriCare Certified- meaning the Military Insurance Company approves him for our use.. Haha, the only give away - besides the fact he and his nurses are all Korean - is that like most Korean Shops, there is both a Coffee Maker and Tea Brewer in the waiting room! Haha Koreans LOVE coffee (or copy as they pronounce it) and of course tea!
We STILL have no orders! Its getting really annoying. We have LESS then months! Oh gosh time has moved so fast! It feels like just last week i was back in the states trying to get things together so i could move here! We've enjoyed our time in Korea-but its time to move on....

Color Guard

*This is the "change of command".. they pass the STB Flag from the CSM, to the departing Commander, to our Brigade Commander, to our new Commander and back to the CSM. Its how they show they're handing over the troops.. its really my favorite part of these things...
*Sorry the pictures all fuzzy, It was hard to get a picture he was so far away...

*This is the ROK Army Band for our "sister unit" here in Waegwan

*Our new Battalion Commander, LTC Sliman
*Colonel Duckworth, our Brigade Commander
*Marching passed our new Commander..
*The man infront of Preston on the left is our new Battalion Commander LTC Sliman, the short lady next to him is CSM O'Neal, infront of her is COL Duckworth and then the short lady on the right is our departing Commander, LTC Darby
*The Color Guard..
*Preston, Cho (a KATUSA) and then Powell

*Preston waiting around before the Ceremony began

So Friday we had our final Change of Command. Our Battalion Commander, LTC Darby, is leaving for her new station and we got our new Commander, LTC Sliman. We're happy about our new command. Our Brigade Commander, Battalion Comander, and Company Commander are all family oriented. We think this will help out ALOT, only 1 Commander out of our old 3 Commanders had family. It really makes a difference. Preston was part of the Color Guard for this Change of Command. He received a coin from the Battalion CSM. Its a cool looking coin, we didnt know he would be receiving one so we were unable to get pictures.

July 4th Weekend

* Us with the guys from Hoobastank
* Us being dorks, killing time while in line for autographs and pictures with the band

* The man on the left with the white shirt is Colonel Hodges the Area 4 Commander. He gave Hoobastank a plaque for coming to sing for us on July 4
* The lead singer, he makes some funny faces when he sings.. ill have to post more later...

* It was this guys birthday- hes the bass player

*Guitar Player...

* Us as the concert was starting! We had such a blast..

We had a really good 4th of July weekend! Preston had a 4 day weekend, which made it that much better!! Friday after Preston got off, we went to the movies with Mr.Kume and 2 Katusas from Prestons office, Peck and Yang. Peck is the "baby Katusa" in Prestons Office. It just means hes fresh out of Basic. You can always tell when a Katusa is new- They look scared, and bow at everyone! Haha.. then Saturday Preston worked for 2 hours, then we hung out at home, watched movies, slept and just relaxed. Sunday was the Hoobastank Concert and Fireworks for the 4th. We had SO MUCH FUN at the concert. We got to meet the band afterwards, nice guys. The firework show wasnt the best but not too bad. Then on Monday we went to Osan for Prestons fitting. We are getting his Dress Blues made, and the price to get 2 pants, and 1 jacket for them is really cheap, and they're tailored to him. We figured that since were in Korea and they're cheap to get made why not get them done? They will be mandatory next year, and most are just getting them done now... easier to do them now then wait and end up spending way too much. Today Preston had a Color Guard Practice today for a Change of Command on Friday for our LTC who leaves this coming Sunday. Then we just hung out and picked up the house and what not, and now Prestons out Rock Climbing with some ppl from our Unit! I usually go, but just didnt really wanna go today. We're hoping we can keep up with our blog again! Haha hopefully we do... :)

Having Fun

* NO ONE ever pulls over for an ambulance unless their American... notice the ambulance sitting and waiting tell the cars stop so they can go-- didnt happen until after the light turned green for our side!

* I cut up my eye awhile ago.. it looked really creepy!

* The view from KFC
* I miss American KFC... Heck I just miss America
* Too bad this wasnt the real Olive Garden... Not even Italian...
* Preston watching people climb..
* The guy sitting I dont know, he came with the guy in the super short shorts who lives one floor down from us and his name is Chris, the guy in the white tank top is Powell and Preston and the guy in the back in the red shirt is LT Holt
* Preston and Mr. Kume climbing..
* Our date night, just killing time until the movie started!

So lately Preston and I have started hanging out a lot outside of our home, which has been really good and fun. We've both been so busy that we usually get home after our busy days and I cook dinner while Preston does some Corrisponace Cources on the computer. We then eat dinner, get ready for bed and then either watch a movie or tv and fall asleep. We've just been tired and stressed which makes us lazy.
Not really sure what got into us, but we had a long good talk awhile ago about the 'old days' and decided it was time to go out and about. So now every Monday when Preston gets off we go swimming, Tuesdays we go Rock Climbing with a group of Soldiers in our Unit, Wednesdays and Thursdays are either date nights, swimming, rock climbing or our lazy nights.. Friday- Sunday is always up in the air. This weekend will be nuts for us though.. but in a really good way. Its a 4 day weekend which will be fun. Friday Mr.Kume and his family have invited us to go to the movies with them, after the movies we'll prolly just explore down town Dague again.. Saturday Preston works a few hours, then Sunday we'll most likely hang out in Dague and Walker all day. There is a bunch of stuff going on there for 4th of July. Including a Hoobastank Concert, which is what we are really excited for. Its one of my favorite parts of the Military haha.. free concerts! Im hoping it is good like the Trapt/Default Concert and not like the very short one by Flo Rida. Monday we have to go get Prestons Dress Blues (the new Army Class A Uniform) from Osan. We got them tailored there which is A LOT cheaper then getting them directly from the Military. Then Tuesday Preston has a formation/rehersal thing and then we'll probably go climbing and swimming before the week starts. This coming Friday we have another Change of Command. Preston may be doing the Color Guard for it, which would be cool.. but who really knows! Oh and Wednesday we also have a date night. Twilight Saga: Eclipse comes out the 7 of July so we plan to go then, already have our tickets haha. We dont know how big of a movie it is here so we thought we'd better be safe then sorry!
Other then that, nothing much is going on. We're still waiting on Orders and its getting annoying. If we dont have orders by the middle of July I have to get his Unit to start my extension paperwork for my Visa and SOFA Stamp- the things that allow me to live in Korea. Mine Expire 29 August 2010... we'll keep you all updated on what we learn!
