Hello all!! Haha, it has been a long time since we last posted anything! We've both been so busy lately that we havent had all that much time.. Preston got his E4 promotion on December 1, 2009. He has moved up in rank pretty quickly. He joined in March of 08 and climbed up 2 ranks while here in S.Korea. He is now going to be even busier! For the next 2 weeks he is going to a DTA Class. He learns to drive and maintain the Military Vehicles.. we think he'll enjoy it. He'll get to drive them around post and off post a few times. After that he is supposed to take Combatatives Classes (hand on hand combat) and train Goodman (Soldier in the Unit) to work in the mail room. They are trying to pull Preston out, but cant let Russell stay in there anymore so they've got to replace him first. Russell is a Soldier in the Unit, he is from Vegas and he is very imature, annoying and lazy. He gets into trouble alot. They have to take him out of the mailroom and possibly reclass him (give him a different job) because he is losing his Security Clearance. He married a Russian Citizen, who also happens to be 1/2 N.Korean... He met her at a bar here, that she worked at, said she was pregnant so they got married. Now they say shes not pregnant, and say they never said she was... He causes a lot of drama...
I was recently asked by Prestons Unit Commander if I would be the FRG Leader for the Unit. I am still trying to decide, but think i'll end up doing it. Its a volunteer thing... I will be going to meetings with both Unit and Area Command Leaders and at times may be sent to other areas for meetings. They keep me up to date on everything going on with the Unit. Its funny that I will know things before Preston or his NCOIC. Its kept me really busy the last 3 weeks and im not even the Official one yet! I need to do some training and then have an interview with the Captain.
Other then that, not too much is going on. It just hit us recently that we leave Korea in August of this year. Mr. Kum doesnt want us to, neither does Kelly... it will be weird leaving and most likely not seeing any of our friends here again... But we've missed being in the states.
On New Years day we hung out with Mr.Kum and his family (dont know if i've mentioned it but Mr.Kum is the Korean Civilian who works in the mail room with Preston). They took us out to lunch at a traditional Korean Resteraunt- except we got to choose between a booth and the floor sitting- we chose booth haha. After lunch they took us to see Sherlock Holmes at the Theater in Downtown Dague. They are always a lot of fun to hang out with... Mr Kum talks a lot more out of the office. We had a lot of fun. We've really enjoyed the last 2 weeks. Prestons had a lot of days off, and half days... We hope all of you have had good Holidays...
